We are looking for an ambitious and highly experienced Business Development Marketing-Commercial professional to join our winning APAC operation.

What will you be doing?

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, you will - through a planned and proactive approach - drive business development region covering the Australia and New Zealand markets, where you will be responsible for leveraging strategic marketing technologies and tactics to proactively prospect for new strategic accounts, generating, cementing, and growing new relationships to increase System1’s client base in industries/verticals of focus. The goal is to increase our new logo wins and total revenue for the region.

In addition, you will…
 
  • Work closely with our global partnerships team to execute local partnerships and generate leads through their customer base and thought leadership case studies.
  • Leverage our best processes and sales materials to support leads and transition new logo wins into our ‘expand- client account team’ for future growth.
  • Work closely with the SVP of APAC – transitioning accounts to scale up and further win new business/logos through collaborative efforts, and a ‘one APAC team’ mentality.
  • You will be required to input into the creation of and repurpose our thought leadership to make System1 and our partners famous in Aus/NZ – including working with our global marketing team to manage media partnerships, create owned reach via owned channels and attending and speaking at industry events (eg. Cairns Crocodiles, Mumbrella 360).
  • Creating lower-funnel assets for Aus/NZ from our global research and sales material that effectively creates and converts interest – identifying any additional data or research needed.
  • Drive expansion of opportunity deal pipeline (data captured in CRM/HubSpot) and convert Inbound and Outbound leads.
  • Grow System1 fame, running workshops and insight sessions, and using our resources to support on pitches.

Because you’re focused on helping clients improve their creative and marketing effect, your work will never really feel like selling.

You need to have the following experience:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in business development specific to marketing advertising/innovation with clear exposure to strategy, planning, research and comms, scaling and closing deals.
  • A new business hunter who can successfully convert deals within reporting month - can demonstrate success of dramatically growing revenues, scaling opportunities across varying sales cycles.
  • Strong understanding of how data and research play a role in the marketing/advertising ecosystem.
  • Growing a business – You have pitched and won new business proposals. You can demonstrate a track record of growing a brand or business, and what it takes to succeed.
  • Demonstrated experience of being able to collaborate cross-functionally within a business to drive results.
  • Developing effective creative – you know the creative development process and how understanding the audience response can inspire more effective creative.
  • Experience presenting or pitching directly to marketers and/or agencies.
